Autumn Brilliance Fern – (Dryopteris erythrosora ‘Brilliance’)

The “Dryopteris erythrosora ‘Brilliance’” is commonly known as the Autumn Brilliance Fern. This evergreen fern is primarily found in Japan, China, and Taiwan on woodland hillsides and mountain slopes. It is easily grown in slightly acidic, medium to wet soils and requires part shade to full shade. The fern is recognized by its arching vase shape with striking orange-red to copper pink fronds. However, the color develops into a deep green during the summer months. The name “Brilliance” is included to highlight the long-lasting bright red color in fall and into the spring months.

The Autumn Brilliance Fern is relatively low maintenance and does not have any known insect problems or diseases. This fern is best used in moist woodland or shade gardens.
